The objective of The Araca Project is to foster the emerging artist’s entrepreneurial spirit. Selected young artists have been offered an opportunity to produce ODYSSEY in an Off-Broadway venue. The goal is to give young artists a pride of ownership in their careers by providing a forum which both manifests their artistic visions as well as galvanizes classroom theory with real-world action. By founding The Araca Project, The Araca Group joins Syracuse University in its commitment to early career development.
Based on the classic poem by Homer, ODYSSEY is a thrilling new musical adventure that follows Odysseus’ epic journey home after the Trojan War. Audiences will join Odysseus as he encounters the lotus-eaters, outwits the Cyclops, resists the Sirens and battles the gods in a quest to return home to his wife and son.
